The Third Principle of Pandit Chitresh Das

रियाज़ मेहनत के साथ “Riyaz mehenat ke sath” - Systematic practice with deep exertion

The mantra at CDI is “Practice, Practice, Practice” with hard work and exertion.“Panditji has taught us how to tap the Divine energy in ourselves through the power of practice. …When I am into deep practice and the initial resistance of physical and mental exertion subsides, I enter a realm where there is no "other" - where time is no more.”- Michelle Zonka, student of Pandit Chitresh Das.

Riyaz Mehenat ke Sath - Third Prinicple

by Lila Landsittel Patel

Lila is 10 years old and has been studying kathak for five years. She is currently in Children’s Beginning Level II with Anita Pai (Anita Didi).

The Mantra at CDI is “practice, practice, practice” with hard work and ambition. This is an important quality to possess because if you don't practice you will not get good at the thing you are trying to get better at. Also, if you don't practice you will never fall down, pick yourself up again and learn from that. Learning is equally important as practice because when you learn you are getting better at something and when you make mistakes you learn from those too.

Even though you might want to be perfect it is not going to happen because we all have flaws and those flaws help us in our life, activities and even help us earn more knowledge! It may sound strange but it is true, making mistakes can actually help you! Mistakes make you become stronger and grow, someday you will look back and remember the mistakes you made and also how they helped you in many ways.

In conclusion, practice and learning are two very important things in many different ways. As I have explained in these first couple paragraphs practice and learning help you. One example of this is when I do Kathak, I make many mistakes and I have to learn and practice many, many times. But I always get something out of it, whether it is something I learned or I found that I need to work on. My point is that practice, learning and mistakes are all important whether it is big or small, and you will always get something out of it. So Practice, practice, practice and don't be afraid to make mistakes!!!
