Sacrifice & Selfless Service - The Seventh Principle - by Shivaranjani Das
The Seventh Principle of Pandit Chitresh Das:
त्याग और सेवा “Tyaag aur Seva” – Sacrifice & selfless service
Core values of the teachings and training at CDI are selfless service and sacrifice. These values manifest both within the context of the study of Kathak and also permeate in other aspects of daily life, such as by giving back to community and society at large.
Nine principles, Principle #7 - Tyaag aur Seva (Sacrifice & Selfless Service) - By Shivaranjani Das
Shivaranjani Das started her formal kathak training at the age of 3. She is the elder daughter of Pandit Chitresh Das and Celine Schein Das and is currently in Children’s Beginning Level II with Anita Pai.
When you use sacrifice and selfless service you devote your life to helping others in need, meaning help your community, friends, and family.
Selfless service
An example for selfless service is your family. You help your family by helping with meals, or tidying up the house. You also use service for the veterans. Donate books, food and games for veterans of the navy, air force and more.
Sacrifice
You sacrifice many things: clothes, books, food, and more. Sacrifice is a big part of change in our lives. We mainly use it for letting go of things like: memories, the past, and loss.
Sacrifice and selfless service are very important things in life which is why this principle is so important. Dance needs all principles but this one is still important.
